An independent guide to parking at Heathrow airport.

There are two types of parking at London Heathrow - Short Stay and Long Stay.

Short Term Heathrow Airport Parking (For up to a 24 hours)

General
Recommended for stays up to five hours, for example when you are dropping somebody off at the airport or picking somebody up from a flight. There are short term car parks at Terminals 1 (two car parks), 2, 3 and 4. Short term parking at Heathrow is not cheap - you're looking at around £3 an hour.

Business
Ideal for the business traveller who wishes to get to the terminals quickly, these are located closer to the terminals than the long stay parking and buses run around every five minutes. Pricing is considerably more expensive than long term parking (200-300% higher typically) but an option if time is short. Check BAA for specific details and costs.

Valet Parking
Valet parking services are available at all four of Heathrow's terminals. Recommended for the fastest turnaround possible, your car is collected from you on the terminal forecourt and returned to you there when you return to the airport. Additional services include car valeting, transfers between airports, personal chauffeuring and car servicing. The most expensive option, though becomes better value for longer trips. Check BAA for specific details and costs but you're looking at around 3 to 4 times the cost of Long Term Heathrow Parking. Long Term Heathrow Airport Parking

Ideal for those going on holiday, business or for those who plan a stay away of more than 24 hours. Heathrow airport's long term car parks offer secure parking and the convenience of a regular courtesy bus to all Heathrow terminals. The car parks are generally close to Heathrow Airport, a bus trip from the car park to the terminals typically taking around 10-15 minutes. You would be unlucky to have to wait more than 10-15 minutes for a bus to take you from Heathrow Airport to or from a car park.

Prices for each car park at Heathrow airport depend on your travel dates. High season rates tend to be a little higher. Availability is not guaranteed unless you prebook your airport parking.
